Blog Candy Alert....

Over on Dustin Pike's blog he has offered a challenge to all cardmakers to donate cards for the boutique at the Festival of Trees to benefit the Primary Children’s Medical Center. He is offering some free graphics and will be giving away a hand sculpted dragon to one very lucky participant! Click on the link above and go on over to his site to read all about it. He also has a link directly to the Festival of Trees website.

Still working on Christmas crafts

Sorry I haven't posted lately. Hubby has been sick with the flu and I have been trying not to get it. In between running around to get things for him, I did find a little time to do some crafting. I have less than 2 months until my first show and really needed to get things done.
Here are a couple of the projects I worked on this week. The Candy Cane Cuties are a graphics kit that I got last year and had almost forgotten about. The artist is Libby Merk of Doodle Bee Art Studio LLC and you can find her work here. Libby is the sister of my favorite artist Laurie Furnell and just as talented. The Santa ornament is similar to one I had seen on the internet but didn't have a pattern. I made several attempts to come up with one of my own and this is the end result. I think he is kind of cute but would like him better with a Georgia Bulldog hat!
I have also been designing some new 2010 calendars and will try to post a few of them when I get them made.
Thanks for stopping by.....have a great day!!!

I'm back.....

I can't believe that August is almost over and I have not had the time to blog once! There has been so much going on in my life these past few weeks.....some good and some bad. For those friends that sent their thoughts and prayers following the death of my daughter-in-law, I thank you....it really meant alot to me. Hopefully September will be a better month.
I only have 2 months until my fall craft shows begin and I still feel like I have so much to do to get ready. Hopefully the cooler weather this next week will motivate me to spend more time on fall/winter crafts.

By the way, I have a new set of fall cards up at Aimee Asher. While you are there you may also want to check out this new set by Glenna Nash.

Glenna is a good friend I met a few years ago on the PCCrafter message board. She is a wonderful person and an awesome artist! I have always been in amazed at her painting skills and now she has decided to turn some of her painting into digital graphics. I downloaded this one as soon as it became available and am already working on some cards I will post here in a few days. Glenna, I wish you great success in your new venture.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Something a little different today

Here are some pictures of a Provo Craft Tin that I altered. Usually I do them with graphics but this one is done with scrapbook paper and Modge Podge. Then embellished with ribbon and prima flowers although the flowers don't show up too well in the picture. I really like the way it turned out. I also made dividers for inside with chipboard covered in scrapbook papers and tabs punched out with a Stampin' Up punch. I haven't decided if I should design some recipe cards to go with it or use it to organize cards. Either way, when I'm finished I sure it will be added to my Etsy shop.

Three New Kits up today

I have three more card kits up in Karel's shop at Aimee Asher today. Karel also has two new summer graphics kits that are awesome! The card that looks like a present is one that pulls up to open like the flower pot cards that everyone is doing now. There are additional pictures in her shop that show the inside of the cards.

For all you pet lovers....

I just finished these two cards and thought they turned out really cute. I'll have to send the cat one to my daughter....she has two cats except they are both black and white. Graphics for both are by Cheryl Seslar of Raggedy Scrappin. Both cards have 3D cutouts on the front and inserts on the inside to match the frame on the outside. Thanks for dropping by.

Christmas in July!!!

I have been working on Christmas cards all week and thought I would post just a few of them. Some are a work in progress...I have the basic card done but need to add a few embellishments to some.
I found these really nice cards at Joann's...heavy textured cardstock and very sturdy kraft envelopes. The Santa's and angels are both from Whimsy Primsy and the Snowman and Gingerbread man are from Cheryl Seslar. Sorry the pictures are a little fuzzy....I just got a new camera and need to get used to it.
Thanks for looking and come back soon.

More cards finished....

I got a little sidetracked with my cardmaking but I did manage to finish a few I thought I would post. The birthday card graphic is by Laurie Furnell at PCCrafter. It's a two "layer" cake with stickles on the flames. The other 3 cards are a set that I did for Karel and will hopefully be available soon in her shop. (the original artwork is by Gail Eads of Country Life Graphics) All three can be layered for a 3D effect and come with inserts and matching envelopes. Coming soon.....more baby cards and of course, Christmas!!

Today I played with paperdolls.........

I remember when I was a young girl one of my favorite things was paperdolls. Back then they were actually made from paper and had little paper tabs that folded down to keep the clothes on the doll. Yesterday I made magnetic paperdolls. I got these cuties from Cheryl Seslar at Raggedy Scrappin . I printed them out on my computer then ran them through my Xyron machine with the laminate/magnet cartridge. Then I decorated this cute little lunchbox tin to put them in.
Now I'm working on more cards so hopefully will have some to post tomorrow.

I don't have any more craft shows to do until the fall so..............I'm working on Christmas crafts today!!! Here are a few of the tags I have finished so far. The chickens are not really Christmas, I just liked them and will probably add them to my Etsy store. All the graphics are by Cheryl Seslar.
Which set is your favorite? Mine is the gingerbread men.......no....the penguins......or maybe the chickens. Oh, I can't decide!!!

I went to Florida to visit my daugter's family. Her husband is going to Iraq next month and they were renewing their wedding vows before he goes. My camera died before the wedding started so I have no pictures but hopefully she will send me some soon. I got to spend time with my granddaughter who is 13!!! Her biggest problem of the day was that while at the wedding she had no cell phone reception and could not even send a text message....LOL!!!! Here is her picture after having her makeup done. Isn't she adorable!

It's never too early to think about Christmas!!! That is my absolute favorite time of the year!! I'm starting to do my crafting for my fall and winter shows and here is one of my biggest sellers the past few years. This year I am adding them to my Etsy shop as well. The graphic was done by Laurie Furnell, one of my favorite artist. You can find her work at PCCrafter or on her blog.

Several of my fellow crafters at PCCrafters message board have been selling on Etsy so I thought I would take the plunge. If you get a chance check out my store. There's not much there right now but I've been told its better to add items a few at a time. Special thanks to Lynn for inspiring me and answering my questions. Check out her blog too.

Good News to Share

Sorry I have not been keeping my blog up-to-date but I have been busy with another venture. Karel at Art and Scraps has given me the opportunity to be a part of her creative team. This is the first time I have created printables for other people to use. She has added two of my kits to her newly designed site as well as to her store here.

One of the kits is a set of masculine cards to be used for all occasions and the other is a cute set done with Karel's Hunny Bears.

Good Friday All....

Its been a busy week and I finally got around to downloading my pics. Here are a few of my cards I made this week. Also, I have made several sets of gift tags.
The first set of tags are angels from Country Life Graphics and Trina Clark. I designed the tag myself in PSP and matched the border to each angel. I just used a striped background on the back to match the center of the tags, inked all the edges and coffee stained the ties.
The next set of tags are by Laurie Furnell at PCCrafters.com. Many of her graphics sets include a few printables such as tags, boxes or envelopes.
The last tags are by Karla Dornacher, a very talented Christian writer and artist. If you have never visited her blog ( http://karladornacher.typepad.com/karlas_korner/ ) take a few minutes and check it out, you will be glad you did. I printed soft pink stripes on the back to match the front, rounded the corners and inked the edges with tattered rose Distress ink.

Now on to the cards......First is the wise owl from Laurie Furnell's brand new set "Owl Seasons" . (I forgot to add the rest of his branch before taking the picture). Next is the sheep by another PCCrafter artist, Fayette Terlouw. The Father's Day card has a banner done by Laurie Furnell and a tie by Carolee Jones added to a paper folded shirt by me. Last but not least is the baby card. I got this idea from a video by Dawn Griffith here:
http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/ Since I don't have a top note die or a Big Shot yet, I had to just cut one out freehand but I think it came out pretty good for my first try. The baby graphic added to the front is by Cheryl Seslar.
Thanks for stopping by.
